When it comes to gaming in 2023, one game has dominated the marketplace unlike any other. That game is of course Hogwarts Legacy. The Wizarding World epic was released back on February 7th for Next-Gen consoles and it quickly rose through the ranks and topped every gaming-related chart the world over. It has received critical acclaim from both fans and experts alike, and the open-world fantasy epic has given fans of the original Harry Potter franchise the chance to immerse themselves in J.K Rowling’s finest creation.
While the game has enjoyed a ten-week stint at the top of the United Kingdom’s most-bought list (physical copies), its time at the gaming summit has now come to an end. And its spell as ‘Champion’ has been usurped by WWE 2K23. 2K Sports took over the WWE video game franchise back in 2014 and the series has gone from strength to strength. But the most recently released installment is perhaps the finest yet.
WrestleMania 39 Propels WWE 2K Franchise to New Heights
Vince McMahon’s professional wrestling behemoth recently hosted its annual live entertainment extravaganza, WrestleMania, which was available for streaming the world over. The event took place on the 1st and 2nd of April inside Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium, and the super show made headlines the world over. Roman Reigns defended his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship versus Cody Rhodes in the main event on night two, a result that both fans and the bookmakers didn’t see coming.
There were also appearances for household names such as former UFC stars Brock Lesnar and Ronda Rousey, as well as social media sensation Logan Paul. San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle also made a surprise appearance, as did music megastars Bad Bunny and Snoop Dogg.
The success of the event, which was the highest-grossing WrestleMania of all time, has propelled WWE 2K23 to new heights and to the top of the charts. The game was released on March 14th, just two weeks before the ‘Granddaddy of them All’ took place. And the timely release has clearly done wonders for sales figures. There are plenty of game modes in the newest installment in the franchise, including My Universe, My Rise, and My GM.
My Faction Mode
